Clutter is a mid-level toolkit that unleashes the power of modern programmable GPUs on the Linux desktop. Using the Clutter Toolkit it is possible to take advantage of hardware acceleration in a simple way, creating visually rich, fast, portable and animated graphical user interfaces.
This presentation will detail the past, present and future of Clutter, right after the 1.0 release has been achieved: the lessons learned, the current state of the library and what lies ahead.
Emmanuele Bassi is a Senior Engineer for Intel. He started working on Clutter when he was employed at OpenedHand in 2006, and has been maintaining the toolkit since October 2008. He lives in London with his wife Marta and when not contributing to the GNOME project he loves to find new places to eat good food.
