Newcomers Session

Is this your first time at linux.conf.au? Would you like to know more about the LCA before the conference begins? The Newcomer's Session brings together our newest delegates with our most experienced delegates for a chance to find out more about the folklore and traditions of linux.conf.au, and how to get the most out of LCA2010.

Miniconfs

Miniconfs will run on Monday 18 January and Tuesday 19 January 2010.

Miniconfs are miniature conferences, within the main LCA2010 conference, which are targeted towards specific communities of interest and offer delegates an opportunity to network with other enthusiasts while immersing themselves in a specific topic or project.

Tutorials

From Wednesday 20 January to Friday 22 January 2010, there will be a dedicated stream of Tutorials for delegates to attend. During the lead up to LCA2010, Tutors may have resources and notes that they would like attendees to have in advance.

Lightning Talks

As well as giving a brief keynote speech, Nathan Torkington will be the Master of Ceremony's for the LCA2010 lightning talks.

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather sessions (BOFs) are discussion forums, hands-on interactive tutorials, or intensive hackfests that provide an opportunity for informal discussion on a particular topic.

PGP/GPG Keysigning

“Key signing refers to digitally signing someone else’s public key using your own” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keysigning). LCA2010 will be holding a key signing event in order to strengthen the web of trust.

Linux Australia Special General Meeting

Linux Australia is the peak body for Linux User Groups (LUGs) around Australia, and as such represents aproximately 5000 Australian linux users and developers. Come along to Linux Australia's Special General Meeting (SGM).
