Moodle features workshop - Jonathan Newman

Jonathan Newman is a Senior Moodle Developer, Project Manager, and Business Analyst at Catalyst IT. His over three years of experience with Moodle development include engagements with Intel Education as well as New Zealand’s Inland Revenue, Ministry of Social Development, and Department of Conservation. His primary focus is on supporting workplace training, and has lead developments of Moodle features including course completion, face-to-face activities, and global grades.



Moodle is a Course Management System (CMS), also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It is a Free web application that educators can use to create effective online learning sites.

It is well known that Moodle is an excellent tool for schools and universities. This workshop will show Moodle as a workplace education tool and provide attendees with an opportunity to experience Moodle first hand.

Attendees will be expected to have a working installation of Moodle on their laptops from http://download.moodle.org/, and some PHP knowledge is recommended.
